On August 27, 2023, the inaugural N.E.T. Summer Camp, lasting one and a half days, concluded successfully at NYU Shanghai.
The event was organized by the NYU Shanghai-ECNU Joint Graduate Training Program (N.E.T.) Office for students interested in pursuing a full-time doctoral degree and demonstrating research aptitude in related fields.
Three faculty members Prof. Zhibin Chen (Transportation Planning and Management), Prof. Xing Tian (Cognitive neuroscience) and Prof. Xiaogang Wu (Social Stratification and Mobility) participated in the Camp. Over the course of one and a half days, students engaged in immersive interactions with their intended faculty advisors. The selected campers confidently presented their research achievements to the audience, refining their presentation skills.

Wenya Wu, from the Institute of Psychology at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced her research on Cognitive Maps.

Jiachen Zhu, from East China Normal University, incited a vibrant discussion related to Intersection of Work and Family.

Peiyu Wang, from Beijing University of Technology, gave a presentation on Travel Mode Choice.
On the second day, participants from various disciplines convened for group meetings with their prospective supervisory group members, further enhancing their understanding of the professional field and seeking pertinent advice and guidance for their PhD applications. During the closing ceremony of the camp, each research group bestowed certificates upon the summer camp students as recognition of their scientific research accomplishments.

The Camp establishes a platform for academic and scientific exchange, providing students with a window to learn about the two institutions and the joint program. Once again, congratulations to our summer campers. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the professors and current N.E.T. students for their unwavering support of the program. We warmly welcome students who are interested in scientific research to join us at next year's N.E.T. Summer Camp for Ph.D. applicants!
