What degree will students obtain upon graduation?

Students are enrolled and registered at East China Normal University (ECNU). Those who successfully complete the program requirements receive a master's or Ph.D. degree (diploma 学位 and graduation certificate 毕业证书) conferred by ECNU.

Do you offer part-time/online Master’s or Ph.D. programs?

No, we do not offer part time or online Master’s or Ph.D. programs. You must be registered as a full-time student studying on campus. Students are expected to have full-time availability to devote to their studies and research.

How much is tuition for graduate study through the N.E.T program?

The program follows ECNU tuition standards.

Can students receive scholarships and research stipends?

Students receive scholarships and research stipends according to ECNU standards and national policy. NYU Shanghai faculty advisors may provide research stipends to Ph.D. and master's students at a higher level than what is required.

Do I need to submit TOEFL/IELTS scores? Are there any requirements for English language proficiency?

There's no requirement for the submission of TOEFL/IELTS score, but students are expected to be fluent in English so that they will be able to communicate directly with their advisors.

Where will the classes be held? At ECNU or NYU Shanghai?

All compulsory courses are offered by East China Normal University and held at ECNU. NYU Shanghai faculty advisors may need their Master and Ph.D. students to conduct research and academic related activities on NYU Shanghai's campus.
